Lately, I’ve been super busy, which is great!  But I haven’t had time to paint or draw as much as I like. However, if I go very long without this life-breathing activity in my day, I start to feel a bit wilted.  That’s when I re-discovered Etsy’s treasury tool as a quick and easy way of making art.

This morning, I decided to challenge myself by making a beautiful Etsy treasury in 30 minutes or less based on a palette chosen over at COLOURLovers (an amazing inspirational site all on its own, by the way).  I used that treasury to create a Pinterest board, which I can easily pull up and go over for color inspiration in my own work.  The palette I chose is called “Giant Goldfish” and thus inspired the name of this treasury.

If you’re feeling the need to create, but don’t have much time, why not head over to Etsy and challenge yourself?  Click on the Create a List button on the right to get started.  You can choose a palette like I did as a starting point, or you can even choose an amazing item from which to curate your collection.  And not only will you have the satisfaction of creating something beautiful, but you will also be helping to promote 16 different small businesses.  What isn’t great about that?

Yesterday I received these amazing fingerless arm warmers from Lusy on Etsy.  They help keep my hands warm while leaving my fingers free to type and do other office-ey things.  I’m LOVING them!  They’re made from an alpaca blend yarn, which was harvested from Lusy’s own animals, and carded, dyed, spun, and knit by her!  Her shop also offers hats, yarn, shawls, mittens and gloves with fingers.
