About Designer and Founder Stacie Humpherys

girl*in*gear studio was founded in 2008 by Stacie Humpherys.  Stacie is the principal designer and owner of Girl In Gear, LLC; a solopreneur, and a recovering mechanical engineer.

Stacie grew up in the beautiful state of Montana, attending the Montana School of Mines and graduating with a B.S. in general engineering in 2002.  She spent 7 years working for a major electronics manufacturer, working as a process engineer on the ever-changing prototyping lines.  Her background as an engineer allowed her to come up with new and interesting ways to approach the world of graphic design.  When the studio became busy in 2009, she took the plunge from electronics to paper and never looked back.
